How We Work

  • First we collect the books. In Brisbane, we are collecting books by buying books from a non-profit Organisations such as St Vincent de Paul or the Salvation Army at a low price. We can get 2 pieces of cardboard books for $ 75 and on average we buy at a price below 50c for each book. We also used to buy the book cheap at a garage sale that is held like a sudden. In addition to buying books, we also cooperate with libraries, educational institutions, and the surrounding community if they would want to donate books to us. In Melbourne, we are also working with schools, educational institutions and organizations such as Lote (Language other than Bahasa) in Australian education office, and also the community to provide books free of charge. These books are delivered directly to the collection, La Trobe University, there also we're taking to school or home.
  • Secondly we do the sorting books. Sort It aims to distinction level of difficulty remembering books educational background of the recipients of different books. The range of educational backgrounds our potential recipients is very high. 2 years ago we sent a picture story books for primary schools A Ba Ta Islam in Central Jakarta and one year after we sent the novels to Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta. What we did during the last 2 years is that we distinguish the book into three classifications. Easy, medium, and hard as represented by the colors green, yellow and red, respectively. While blue is addressed to general books such as encyclopedias, atlases, Thursday and several other kinds of books. Expected by the level of difficulty sorting books, we will be easier to predict the successful nominee.
  • Thirdly we do packing books. Before packing the book of course we set up small appliances that would need such as stationery, duct tape, scissors, and some other tools. We are also looking for used cardboard worthy life that can be taken in place of exile on college campuses, shops and other places. We pack the books that have been sorted into levels of difficulty in small boxes. Every box we attach a weight to facilitate us in the distribution of rations to potential recipients. The weight of each box ranges from approximately 5 kg - 17 kg.
  • Fourth we send the books to Indonesia at one point, in Jakarta, which will be distributed to areas of destination. This is intended to facilitate the distribution of recall since the second year, the source of shipping books not just in Brisbane again but also in Melbourne. In addition because it is, how delivery to a point in Indonesia and then distributed to new destination areas proved to be more direct than distributing savings from Australia. Arriving in the country, we do the placement of these books, which were sent to the box where on several considerations including the degree of difficulty of books and the condition of the recipient.
  • Finally, we send the book to the successful nominee. How to use the most delivery services such as Dakota Cargo shippers. This is usually directed to areas that can not be reached by us. Especially for areas that are still affordable, such as dareah Jakarta and surrounding areas, we send you the books. Examples such as the SDI A Ta Ba in 2008 and UIN Sharif Hidayatullah Jakarta in 2009. We also sent several boxes of books in the Foundation is located in Jakarta to send to the NAD.
  • During that process, we also conduct a feasibility assessment for the candidate receiving the book. Previously, the candidate receiving the register by sending a paragraph about the state of schools, parks reading, libraries, organizations and educational institutions they added a paragraph about why they deserve to get the books. This is because we mepunyai limited number of books so we have to determine the priorities of the recipient. After the registration period, the candidate selection process is continued by e-mail recipients. We also require a book to all recipients to submit reports about the book that came to the place they belong to what the book is used.
  • Our social program is run entirely by donations. We work closely with educational institutions around us like the University of Queensland and La Trobe University, organizations such as the Indonesia-Australia Indonesia Austrlia Central Student Association, and UQ Indonesian Student Association, several shipping companies including Cargo Dakota, Consulate General of Republic of Indonesia, and the certainly the community. Student is no exception.
